Sharifah Hilal Almutairi is a clinical dietitian specialized in Nutrition support. She graduated with a BSc in Biomedical sciences from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom and completed her postgraduate MSc degree in Nutrition at Sheffield University. She has been working at Al Amiri Hospital in the intensive care unit since 2010 to present. She has completed a traineeship in Nutrition support at the University of Virginia hospital (Virginia, USA) and Rush Hospital (Chicago, USA). Most of her training and expertise gained is in the management of critically ill patients who are on Enteral Nutrition (EN) and Parenteral Nutrition (PN) and the complications surrounding EN & PN among the critically ill patient population. She has also participated in conferences and educational initiatives with different hospitals and institutions to educate dietitians and healthcare professional about tube feeding management and TPN. She was one of the first lead dietitians in Kuwait who started managing TPN patients in collaboration with pharmacists in a multidisciplinary approach. Currently she is involved in creating Nutrition support guidelines for Al Amiri Hospital as a part of service development.
